Eco Friendly Laundry Tips
Eco-Friendly Laundry Tips
Here at Pinkish Pods, it’s no secret that we are constantly trying to evolve to become as environmentally friendly as we possibly can, and in turn, help you do the same. This is why we want to provide you with some quick and easy eco-friendly laundry tips.
Not only will you be reducing your environmental impact, but you will also begin seeing cost savings over time. And, let’s be real, who doesn’t love saving an extra buck or two?
Upgrade Your Machines
The most obvious solution to reducing your carbon footprint when it comes to laundry is upgrading your machines. Energy rating is an Australian government-run program aimed at promoted energy efficiency. For every extra star you can cut your running costs down by 27% and save over 7000 litres of water per year.
Wash Full Loads
Although laundry machines have taken strides in the right direction towards becoming more environmentally friendly, they still take a significant amount of energy and water to complete a full cycle. While Energy Star-rated washers use 33% less water than traditional machines, they still use 71 litres of water per cycle. Be mindful of this water consumption when you are filling your machine, and do your best to only wash full loads of laundry.
While we all know that laundry consumes an excessive amount of energy, did you know that 90% of that energy is spent on heating up your water? By simply switching over to cold water washing cycles you could minimise your carbon footprint by 725kg of carbon dioxide annually.
Use Natural Detergents
At Pinkish Pods, we are set on our mission to create a more sustainable laundry detergent product. Our laundry detergent comes in small, biodegradable pods that disintegrate during a regular laundry cycle. The packaging which contains the pods is made from 100% recyclable materials, which means that our laundry detergent is entirely waste-free.
The Pinkish Pods Promise
By going pink, you’re choosing a green alternative that leaves the planet better for future generations, without compromising quality. We’re committed to being climate positive from day one. And that includes the carbon footprint of your washing machine!
